{"id":3554,"date":"2022-06-28T11:49:40","date_gmt":"2022-06-28T09:49:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/greenalia.es\/?post_type=greenalia_news&#038;p=3554"},"modified":"2023-04-05T12:46:40","modified_gmt":"2023-04-05T10:46:40","slug":"rfi-for-its-first-floating-offshore-wind-farm-in-spain","status":"publish","type":"greenalia_news","link":"https:\/\/greenalia.es\/en\/articles\/rfi-for-its-first-floating-offshore-wind-farm-in-spain\/","title":{"rendered":"Greenalia launches RFI for Gofio, its first floating offshore wind farm in Spain"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>A process launched by the Company to gather information on state-of-the-art products and services in the offshore wind market that will also be used to prequalify those companies that would take part in subsequent RFQ\/RFP that will lead to final contracts for Gofio floating offshore wind farm (<em>FOWF<\/em>)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>This process is launched after Greenalia finished a few months ago a complete geophysical survey in the area of San Bartolom\u00e9 de Tirajana, where the 50 MW Gofio FOWF is located, with the main objective of obtaining a more detailed information on the seabed characteristics<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The renewable energy producer Greenalia is advancing in the development of its floating offshore wind projects in the Canary Islands and launches an RFI (Request for Information) focused on the global offshore wind supply chain companies that can provide information on their solutions, products or services that can be applied to floating projects promoted by the renewable energy IPP.<\/p>\n<p>In this sense, this RFI process will serve to prequalify those companies that will be part of the subsequent Request for Quotation and Proposal (RFQ\/RFP) processes that will lead to final Gofio contracts.<\/p>\n<p>This process is launched after Greenalia finished a few months ago a complete geophysical survey in the area of San Bartolom\u00e9 de Tirajana, where the 50 MW Gofio FOWF is located, with the main objective of obtaining a detailed information on the seabed to support the environmental process as well as to confirm the specific geological conditions of GOFIO\u00b4s implementation area, currently the most advanced project in the permitting process of Greenalia\u00b4s portfolio in Spain.<\/p>\n<p>This information will be part of the documentation of the RFI process to help participating companies to better identify their products and services that are best suited to the characteristics not only of this project (GOFIO), but of the rest of the projects that Greenalia are currently developing in the Canary Islands.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The results of this campaign have confirmed the analysis carried out within the Environmental Impact Study (EIA), prepared in 2020, and has also allowed to obtain a greater knowledge of the biodiversity of the seabed. These works show the compatibility with the environment and the reduced environmental impact that the project could generate.<\/p>\n<p>With this new step, Greenalia once again confirms its commitment to the development of its floating wind energy projects, one of the renewable generation sources called to be the basis of green growth in Europe for the coming years.<\/p>\n<p>Greenalia expects Gofio Offshore Wind Farm to be the first floating offshore wind farm in Spain and, with this, it will help to advance in the necessary energy transition, which is becoming more urgent after the constant increases in gas prices and the effects of the war in Ukraine, with a high impact on European energy markets.
