The renewable energy producer Greenalia joins the The Climate Pledge initiative, a platform co-founded by Amazon and Global Optimism in 2019, to get companies to join the commitment to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2040, a decade earlier than set out in the 2050 Paris Agreement.
With this signature, Greenalia, joins over 300 companies adhering to this platform, commits to measure and report greenhouse gas emissions regularly; to implement decarbonization strategies through real business changes and innovations, to include efficiency improvements, renewable energy, material reduction and other carbon emission elimination strategies; and to neutralize remaining emissions with additional, quantifiable, real, permanent, and socially beneficial offsets to achieve net-zero annual carbon emissions by 2040, which means a decade of anticipation to the 2050 Paris Agreement objectives.
In this sense, the growth of green energy production by Greenalia stands out, whose strategy is focused on the development of new wind and solar installations that allow reducing the emission of CO2 into our atmosphere, a vital aspect to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy.
“All companies have a key role in the fight against climate change, whose impacts are increasingly visible and at Greenalia we are clear about our commitment. That is why we have joined The Climate Pledge because in addition to reinforcing our commitment to sustainability, we join a community with which to share knowledge, ideas, and best practices. All of them aimed at safeguarding the planet for future generations“, explains Greenalia’s Sustainability and Corporate Development Director.
