Greenalia sponsors Xiria handball club’s summer and winter camps

• The renewable energy company has signed an agreement with this sports club to cover the costs of these activities and to promote sports and a healthy lifestyle among children
• With this initiative, the company want to reinvest in those environments in which it builds and operates its wind farms

Greenalia will financially support Xiria Handball Club (Carballo, Galicia) for the development its summer and winter camps, activities in which over 200 families in the area can find an inclusive and integrating proposal for better work-life balance.

With the agreement signed between Greenalia and the Xiria Club, Greenalia takes another step forward in its commitment with Social initiatives within its ESG strategy, a roadmap that promotes values such as companionship, solidarity, responsibility, and tolerance which are also inherent to the Club’s action plan.

With this contribution, as established in the agreement, Greenalia wants to do its part to support socio-educational projects and integration plans for families. The company thus continues its line of initiatives framed in its CSR Plan through which the company supports the development of social actions in the communities where it operates.

The activities will also have an Environmental awareness component, especially aimed at two aspects: the reduction of the use of single-use plastics and the need to reduce the amount of waste. Therefore, water consumption will be prioritized through the fountains installed in the camp, refillable water bottles will be provided, and green areas will be cleaned to highlight the environmental damage caused by untreated waste.

Greenalia continues to support inclusion and environmental initiatives, in the framework of its social commitment through which more than 500 families have benefited since 2020 from aid for school supplies in several municipalities where the company has projects, as well as its collaboration with inclusive actions in the field of sports, including support for Basket Coruña, to which this agreement with Xiria Club is added.
