Greenalia strengthens its US strategic growth plan with the development of 8 new solar projects totalling 1.7 GW

  • The company started building-up its US Solar Pipeline in 2021 with the acquisition of Misae II Solar Plant (695 MW), to which it has been adding another 7 projects with a total installed capacity of 1 GW, at different stages of development
  • At Misae II, the interconnection work has been completed and the construction of the solar plant is ongoing, with 150 MW already received

The renewable energy producer Greenalia advances in its development in the US market, where it already has over 1.7 GW of Solar PV under development in Texas, a portfolio that the company adds to its under development projects in Spain.

The company’s entry into the American market took place in 2021 with the acquisition of 695 MW Misae II project, which is currently under construction.

The interconnection works, valued at USD 18 million, have also been completed. The evacuation system is now ready, allowing that when the various phases of the project are commissioned, they start exporting energy to the grid.

The Plant will be installed on 3,970 acres of land (more than 1,600 hectares) in an area with a high-capacity factor of 31%, so the plant is expected to have an estimated net production of almost 1.4 GWh, which means an annual reduction of 826,000 tonnes of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere.

At the same time, Greenalia continues to expand and diversify its projects in the US, where it has added another 5 solar facilities with a total of 930 MW with interconnection rights in different hubs in the state of Texas. In addition to Solar, it also has a Wind Farm project with an installed capacity of 303 MW plus storage totalling over 1GW of renewable installed capacity.
