Bustelo Wind Farm, planned in the municipalities of Carballo and Coristanco, counts with the authorization for its construction, as stated in today’s DOG, that publishes the successful completion of the different administrative procedures that allow progress in the start-up of this facility, with a 45 MW installed capacity.
Bustelo WF, projected by Greenalia, will have a total of 10 wind turbines, with a hub height of 111 meters and a rotor diameter of 136. To start its operation the WF will require an investment of over 45 million Euros and the mobilization of 450 jobs.
The project obtained the environmental impact statement (DIA), granted by the Administration last November, a document that includes the environmental measures that the company will develop throughout the construction of the WF, as well as those that it will maintain throughout its productive life.
The main corrective measures incorporated by Greenalia into the project in its permitting phase include: (a) the elimination of a wind turbine; and (b) relocation of a collector center and two machines, all with the objective of minimizing possible environmental and landscape impact and in line with Greenalia’s Sustainable (ESG) approach to business development.
Likewise, as another remarkable aspect in environmental protection, the WF construction project avoids Centaurea ultreiae populations and, during the restoration phase of the WF, a specific program of reinforcement of this plant will be carried out, in order to guarantee the increase of the number of existing specimens. Furthermore, a special plan has been established for the control of invasive plant species in WF’s area.
