Greenalia reaffirms its collaboration with the Club Basquet Coruña, by the financing, for a third consecutive year, of twenty training scholarships for children at exclusion risk. Through this initiative, the renewable energy producer will fund training expenses (registration, equipment, and fees) for these students.
With this initiative, Greenalia, through its Foundation for the Energy Transition, wants to continue to do its part to support socio-educational and social inclusion plans in the areas where it operates and sports has an important integrating aspect. This has been ratified by the Director of Sustainability and Corporate Development, Beatriz Mato, and the Vice-President of the entity, Juan Carlos Fernández Herrero.
As explained by Greenalia’s CSO, Beatriz Mato, “for us, it is a satisfaction to be able to reaffirm our commitment to this entity, as the principles of basketball and of this club are those that we also practice in our company. Values such as companionship, the spirit of sacrifice and fair play, which are so firmly established in this sport, are also the keys of our corporate policy“.
Basquet Coruña values and appreciates the effort made by Greenalia so that children of different ages who are at risk of exclusion can continue to enjoy and develop their favorite sporting activity.
In the words of its vice-president, Juan Carlos Fernández, “for Basquet Coruña it is a great joy to renew this agreement with Greenalia. For the third consecutive year, this link will allow boys and girls, in vulnerable situations, to have the opportunity to enjoy and train in basketball from the grassroots level“.
Basquet Coruña, founded in 1996, is the reference club in the city and its area of influence. With around 700 children between its own and external schools, Basquet Coruña is the largest basketball academy in Galicia. A sporting practice that the club complements with numerous activities, always within a framework of social awareness towards the values of sport and healthy habits.
Greenalia, based in A Coruña and active in Europe and the USA, is an independent producer of energy exclusively with renewable technologies. The organization is present in five technologies: Onshore and Offshore Wind, Solar Photovoltaic, Storage and Biomass, where it is vertically integrated from the origin of the raw material to the production of electrical energy.
