Greenalia renews its commitment to Gran Canaria Basketball Club’s Suma Project

  • The renewable energy company will collaborate, for the second consecutive year, by financing scholarships for the sports inclusion of children with disabilities
  • The company reinforces its commitment to the Canary Islands community, where it is developing offshore wind projects

Greenalia has just renewed its collaboration with the Gran Canaria Basketball Club, through which finances a total of 38 training scholarships aimed at the sporting inclusion of children with disabilities. This was ratified by the Greenalias´s CSO, Beatriz Mato, and Sitapha Savané, president of the Gran Canaria Basketball Club, at the signing ceremony held at the Gran Canaria Arena.

Greenalia renews its commitment to the Suma Project, initiated by the Gran Canaria Basketball Club in 2019. Through this initiative, activities are developed with this group. Talks are also given in various educational centers to make visible the needs of people with disabilities for their greater integration.

For Greenalia, “it is a pride to participate in this initiative that, in its 5 years of life, has provided and/or provides some kind of support to more than 1,000 families. A project that, as its name says, continues to add up. Integration through sport shows us every day the path towards inclusion and equal opportunities, a path to which the company is strongly committed,” emphasizes Beatriz Mato, CSO Greenalia.

For its part, Club Baloncesto Gran Canaria continues to work actively on the growth of the Suma Project, part of the social initiative Compromiso Granca, led by Sitapha Savané, which was born last year with the aim of transcending the basketball court and turning the club into a benchmark and leader in social impact.
