The renewable energy producer Greenalia has reached an agreement with the Multinational Showa Denko to supply its Galician facilities with green energy. In this way, the company takes another step forward in its commitment to offer energy solutions to the electro-intensive companies located in the community.
As stated in the proposal, Greenalia will supply part of the energy to be produced by Orzar and Tornado Wind Farms, projects planned in the municipalities of Carballo, Val do Dubra, Tordoia and Trazo. These facilities, with a total capacity of 123.2 MW, will contribute to improve the competitiveness of the electro-intensive activity.
Both wind farms, currently in permitting stages and classified as a priority projects, will channel over 100 million euros in investment and will mobilize almost half a thousand jobs in construction stages.
Regarding the wind farms (WF) technical characteristics, Orzar WF (56 MW) will be located between the municipalities of Carballo and Tordoia. It envisages the installation of 10 wind turbines of 5.6 MW unit power, 105 metres hub height and 150 metres rotor diameter. Meanwhile, Tornado WF (67.2 MW) will be made up of 12 turbines and located in the municipalities of Carballo, Tordoia, Val do Dubra and Trazo. Like Orzar, the WF will have 105 hub heights and 150 m of rotor diameter and 5.6 MW of unitary turbine power.
